Photos of the two holding hands began making the rounds early Monday on the Web. The Spanish photo agency Gtres-Online has said the snapshots were stolen from their database by a hacker.
Shakira, 34, and Piqué, 24, have been denying romance rumors for months.
The Colombian pop star recently split with longtime boyfriend Antonio de la Rúa after 11 years of dating. The two announced their breakup last month in a message posted on Shakira's website.
"Since August 2010, we made a mutual decision to take time apart from our romantic relationship," they said. "Throughout this time we have continued to work together hand in hand, have remained close and have kept the details absolutely private until now."
