BackUp Bookmark and Customization FIREFOX

Next tips for mozilla users.

A simple and useful trick to backup your bookmark and/or customization from firefox. You can use this if you want to re-install your computer, and you want to keep your bookmarks that you've saved in firefox. Follow this step by step :









1. Make sure you have showed all HIDDEN FOLDER included the "Protected System Files" in FOLDER OPTION 



2. Browse folder : C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Mozilla

    PS : %username% is your username when you log on to windows<


3. Copy that folder to the safe place (flashdisk, etc)
4. After you re-install your computer (maybe cause of virus attack, etc :P), install new firefox, then copy   that folder to the place it should be. (C:\Documents and Settings\ %username%\Application Data\Mozilla )



5. Open your mozilla, and check your bookmarks/customization (such as personas, etc) .They are waiting for  you : )

Search File on Megaupload, Rapidshare, Mediafire

The 3 name above are website shared files. The cons of that site beside the download/upload speed is there is no special page to search files. It makes us difficult to find files there.



We can search files with google, of course with a special code. Here it is...

1. Search Video Files

CODE : site:rapidshare.com avi|rm|asf|wmv|mp4|flv|mpeg|mpg|rmvb "TYPE THE TITLE OF VIDEO FILES YOU'RE LOOKING FOR HERE"

2. Search Music Files

CODE : site:rapidshare.com wma|mp3|ogg "TYPE THE SINGER, TITLE, OR ALBUM YOU'RE LOOKING FOR HERE"

3. Search Compressed Files (RAR/ZIP)

4. Search E-book (PDF)

CODE : site:rapidshare.com pdf|doc|lit "TYPE THE FILE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR HERE"

PS : you can change rapidshare.com to any site you want such as mediafire.com, megaupload.com, or another site.

PPS : If you want to search files with a specific extension, you can change the italic word to any extension you want.

Actually, google has so many codes. This is just some of them. I'll update if i find another useful codes.

Test Speed for Flashdisk

How fast is your flashdisk?? In this case the "speed" is read and write speed. We will measure how fast our flashdisk in reading data or writing with a software called Flash Memory Tool Kit.

This is the result :

1. Advance Vandisk 2 GB

Read = 19 Mbps

Write = 5 Mbps

2. Gemini UT-163 2 GB

Read = 10 Mbps

Write =  2 Mbps

Face Recognition Software as Computer Log In Key

This is one of a hundreds software you must try. Our face become the log in key to computer.



This software called veriface from Lenovo. Still using "words/manual" password to open your computer??? outdated!!! : P



Lenovo is a notebook brand, they made this software for their product. But, now all types/brand of notebook can use this software. I have tried this software on my notebook "Acer Aspire 4935" and 100% working!





SO, lets start. This you MUST have :

1. Notebook/ Computer with OS: Windows XP/Vista/7 (32bit)

2. Webcam

3. Download this software

    - Vista/7 (32 bit only) ==> HERE <==

PS : Tested on Vista, XP, and 7 100% working

Pros and Cons using this Software :

1. Pros

   - Unique ways to log in with face

   - Easy to Install

   - Have a " LOG RECORD" to see faces are trying to open your computer

   - Autolock function with "Real time monitor". When we are away from computer, this software will auto-inspect and lock our computer with the setting time.

2. Cons

   - Slow when startup windows

   - Sometimes, this software is hard to detect our face. Need a good position and lightning.

   - Maybe, not all notebook can use this software. I just only test it with my notebook "ACER ASPIRE 4935 with OS : Vista HP". Haven't tested on Apple, other OS.

Show Message When StartUp Windows [Vista & 7 Only]

Just another trick share...

Maybe some of "Regedit" master know this. But for other that dont know, i'll explain how to make some message when we startup the windows.



Lets Start :



1. Go to Run >> Type "REGEDIT" >> Hit Enter







2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System











3. Double Click "legalnoticecaption"

 



At the value data, type anything you want as the header. it will appear on startup ( ex : rodyzone.blogspot.com )



4. Then,Double click "legalnoticetext"



Type anything you wanna show ( ex : Comp Tech & I-net App | Also Other Interesting Article )



5. Close all

6. Reboot your computer and see the result

• The first you must download the application called ANTENNA and INSTALL it..

After it has been installed correctly, open it and this is how it look









Follow this step :

1. HOW TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO

• Just choose which country you want (ex : Indonesia )


• Click the Country tab


• Choose Indonesia and the radio station will appear


• Click one of that station you want to listen

2. HOW TO RECORD IT

• When you listen to the radio, the play menu will appear


• Click the circle button (look at the pic below) to start recording


• Click again to stop recording

3. WHERE I CAN GET MY RECORD

• After you finished the record, you can see your record at "C:...\Documents\Antenna Radio Streams\Internet Radio:

Avoiding Netcut

Maybe when you are downloading something or just browsing, then suddenly your internet connection becoming so slow, it must be someone use 'netcut' application to 'cut' or slow down your internet connection.





Here i wanna share to you about one of uhmm i think the best application to avoiding the netcut. the name is "PORT MONSTER". This is not an "Anti NetCut" Application, its different..



Here is what this application can do :

• Find, Track, and Block someone's IP address that want to cut our connection


• Checking DNS Data


• Whois IP


• Traceroute through the IP address in LAN


• Send >messages between networks through IP address that will send a message (similar to netsend on command prompt : P )

 Follow this step by step :



1. Download "Port Monster" Here



2. Install



3. Run the application, then a window will appear, and just click next 







4. A window will appear again :



Check all and click next



5. Before you click next, be sure that you already click "add" ( if error happened when you click add, then just click next)





6. After that, a "Port Options" window appear. Choose the first option. ( Actually its all up to you, you can choose the 2nd option too)

 



7. Click Next again





8. Click Finish and run the applicatio





9. Click Start ( the blue box ) and wait until the process finish





10. The application is ready to use



Now, your computer can't be cut anymore..  : )

Shutdown Computer with Twitter

After long time i haven't update my blog (it's been a long day i was very busy with my school project) now i'll back to blogging. A little chit-chat... when i open and check on my blog, i'm very surprised that my PAGE RANK has increased into 3. I'm very happy and now i'll try to update my blog daily if i can. :)

Let's just start....



Do you have twitter account? IF No ... try to make it. its very simple. IF Yes... then continue reading..







1.  You must have Twitter ID and Gmail ID. I suggest to make a new gmail and twitter account to avoid something bad that possibly will happen :)

2.  Download the application HERE

3.  Install Windows .NET Framwork 3.5 (needed to install the "TweetMyPC") HERE

4.  Install Windows Installer 3.1 HERE



PS : Usually for Win Vista or above,  you can skip number 3 and 4 because it is already installed on your PC. For Win XP or below usually you must install it first.

PPS : For Windows 7... if the application won't open try to right click on it then run as administrator.



Here is what you can do after install the application :

1. Open Twitter.com

2. Login

3. Post your status :

• "Shutdown" : to shutdown your computer


• "LogOff" or "Lock" : to lock your computer


• "Reboot" : to restart your computer


• "Download'URL'" : to download a file to your computer ( it must be a direct link !!! )



• Example : if you want to download factbook.zip then type " download http://bit.ly/tCJ9Y "

4. Just test it my friend : )

Watch YouTube Without Buffering !!

This is the new trick from me : )

I have collect all the possible way to speed up youtube until almost without buffering  : P

Ok, lets start... I have divided it into 4 way..







1. Using Speedbit Video Accelerator v. 3.1.3.6

Then after you download, you should check which website that support on this software.

2. Using Greasemonkey Script (Firefox user)

• If you don't have this addons, you can download it here : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748


• Then, you must come to this site : http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/33042 and install the 'Youtube Enhancer' script there. (just click the install button there)


• Then, if someday the 'Youtube Enhancer' script has an update, you must install this script too : http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/26062 . 


• Open video on youtube for testing.. If you have install all stuff above correctly, then in the bottom of the video that you wanna watch there is a text View In very low quality (flv), click it. You can resize the video, then there is a 'skull' pic to stop the buffer and a light button to make the background dark. BUT REMEMBER !! YOU SHOULD TO CLICK View In very low quality (flv) TO SPEED UP THE BUFFERING PROCESS.


• But, if you have a good connection, you can change it to high quality or medium quality : P

3. Using Google DNS      

Purpose : To accelerate the youtube ping to our computer. ( tested and works )

How to :

• Open Control Panel


• Then Network Connection


• Then Local Area Network ( Double click LAN that is connected to us)


• Click Properties


• Double click TCP/IP


• Click " Use the Following DNS address"


• Enter the preferred : 8.8.8.8    ----    Enter Alternate : 8.8.4.4


• CONGRATULATION!!!!! --> just compare it before and after you use the google DNS ^^

4. Using Youtube Feather Beta

This is the new way. I got this way from my friend and it works, this is unbelievable i think. The purpose using this is to accelerate the ping of youtube to our computer (same with google dns).



How to :

• First you mustopen this page : http://www.youtube.com/feather_beta


• Click "Join the 'Feather' Beta"


• Check if the 'Feather' Beta works or not by watching this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjA5faZF1A8&fmt=5 ( J.Cannon with Cannon Rock haahah i love this )


• If its work then you should see in the right sidebar a green box like this : " You are currently in the "Feather" beta "

P.S : I have checked on this and not all the video we can watch with this way : (

Check How Good is Your Antivirus

Everybody must have an antivirus to protect their data from being hacked by a fuckin' hacker or we can combine 2 of antivirus. I combine the KAV & KIS from Karpersky Lab with Smadav ( Indonesian antivirus ). Now, i'll tell you how we can check our antivirus if they still working or not. This is just a simple tips to check it. Actually this is a script that EICAR (European Institute for Computer Anti-virus Research) have made. 

EICAR, the European Institute for Computer Antivirus Research, was founded in 1991 as an organization aiming to further antivirus research and improving development of antivirus software. Recently, EICAR has furthered its scope to include the research of malicious software (malware) other than computer viruses and extended work on other information security topics like content security, Wireless LAN security, RFID and information security awareness. (QUOTE FROM : wikipedia.org)

Now this is what you need to do :

1. Open Notepad

2. Type :

  X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

3. Save as file with ext .com (example : checkantivirus.com)

4. If after awhile you save as that file and your antivirus detect it rapidly it means your antivirus still working and if not you should update your antivirus or change it to a better one.

Memory Fox 1.03 .:: Save Your Physical Memory::.

This is the new version of Memory Fox 1.03 (released at Dec 24th 2009). Try this addons my friend ...

Usually if i use mozilla it will take out my memory about 120-140 mb, but after i use this it has been decreased become about 50-70 mb, help me so much.



After you install Memory Fox, you need to manually enable Memory Fox...
