Eight Woman Tag Team Match - Japanese Women Wrestling

Here is a eight woman tag team match posted by kapengmabula on YouTube.
It's Japanese women wrestlers Ayumi Kurihara, Mio Shirai, Io Shirai and Makoto taking on Mima Shimoda, Kyoko Kimura, Atsuko Emoto and Tomoka Nakagawa at a NEO event.

First we have a little video background leading up to the match, then Mima, Kyoko, Atsuko and Tomoka come to the ring already armed with folding chairs and chains.

Then Ayumi, Mio, Io and Makoto come in...unarmed.

The intros start but never finish as it immediately turns into what "Good Ole JR" would call a pier six brawl.

The action comes back into the ring and normalcy is restored for a moment and it looks like the match will go on like a normal contest.
But not for long...

Pretty soon everyone is back in the ring and going at it again.

Somewhat unusually.

Mima gets upset by a slow count....

...and finally a team turns on one of it's members.

Miyako Matsumoto - Japanese Women Wrestlers

Female Japanese wrestler Miyako Matsumoto was born on April 11, 1985.
She's 5'1 and weighs 103 pounds.
Miyako works for the Ice Ribbon wrestling promotion in Japan.

Mika Nishio Wrestling in Japan - Part 4

Here is part four of the pictures of beautiful Japanese female wrestler Mika Nishio wrestling in Japan.
This five foot six inch, 132 pound Japanese wrestler was born on December 12th, 1981 and made her pro wrestling debut on September 30th, 2000 against Terashita.
She wrestled for All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling, AtoZ and Oz Academy wrestling promotions in Japan.

Emi Motokawa wrestling Kayo Noumi in Japan

Here's a photo of Japanese female wrestler Emi Motokawa ( I think ) applying the La Tapatía or Romero Special to Kayo Noumi.

Emi Motokawa also wrestled under the names Sakura Emi and Emi Sakura.
Okay, I know that's just the same name reversed.
Emi went on to found the Ice Ribbon Japanese wrestling promotion.

Kayo retired from wrestling in 2004, and went on to become a stage actress.

Michiko Omukai - Japanese Women Wrestlers

Michiko Omukai is one of my favorite Japanese female wrestlers.

Michiko just has that " look", kind of like Mima Shimoda and Oz.

It's sorta like " I'm gonna kick the crap outta you, and I'm gonna enjoy doing it."

Momoe Nakanishi - Japanese Wrestling

Japanese female wrestler Momoe Nakanishi was born on July 7th 1980.
She was trained by All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling (AJW) and made her wrestling debut on July 14th 1996, in a match against fellow AJW trainee, Nanae Takahashi.

During her career, Momoe held the All Japan Junior title, the AJW Tag Team Championship (twice with Nanae Takahashi), the All Japan Singles title, the WWWA Super lightweight title, the WWWA World Tag Team Championship (twice with Nanae Takahashi as NANA*MOMO), the All Pacific title, the WWWA Title and the AtoZ title.

Momo retired from wrestling on January 7th, 2005.
Her retirement match was fittingly against the lady that she came up through AJW with, Nanae Takahashi.

Sakura Hirota - Japanese Women Wrestling

Japanese female wrestler Sakura Hirota was born on April 12th 1978 in Aichi, Japan.
She made her pro wrestling debut on August 12th 1996 in Tokyo, alongside Chigusa Nagayo in a match against Aja Kong and Yoshiko Tamura.
Sakura is one of the wrestlers that went into comedy style wrestling.
She's known for making her own wrestling belts out of cardboard and carrying them to the ring like they were real.
Sakura worked for Chigusa Nagayo's GAEA promotion from 1995 until it closed and now works for NEO and WAVE.
She is five foot three and weighs 143 pounds.

Last match: August 15th 1997 at the Hiroshima Sun Plaza, Plum teamed with Commando Bolshoi against Mayumi Ozaki and Rieko Amano.
Died: August 16 1997
Promotions: Japanese Women's Pro (1986-1992), JWP (1992-1997)

September 15 1989 - Plum won the UWA and JWP Junior titles by beating both Mayumi Ozaki and Cuty Suzuki.
She lost the belts to Rumi Kazama on January 10th 1990.
June 16 1990 - She won the UWA and JWP Junior titles beating Cuty Suzuki in a tournament final.
The Titles were later vacated.
Signature Wrestling Moves: Stretch Plum (The wrestler applies an inverted facelock to a seated opponent and then places his (or her) far leg between the opponent's legs and pushes his near leg's knee against the opponent's back. Unfortunately, Plum was the first person in Japan to die because of injuries suffered in a wrestling match.
Plum was said to have had head injuries and an absess on her brain prior to the match which may have contributed to the brain damage that killed her.
She was inducted into the All Japan Womens Hall of Fame on November 29, 1998.

In 1997 and 1998, the Plum Mariko Memorial Show was held in her honor.

The Tragic Death of Plum Mariko

It was well known that the weekend of August 15th-17th would be a sad one for women’s wrestling fans, as one of the most promising young stars, JWP’s Candy Okutsu, was retiring way before her time due to a bad back. However, the weekend turned into a catastrophe when long-time JWP star Plum Mariko tragically died after her match on the 15th. Plum, real name Mariko Umeda, teamed with Bolshoi Kid against Mayumi Ozaki & Rieko Amano at Hiroshima Sun Plaza. Ozaki used one of her regular spots, the Ligerbomb, to pin Plum. The move was not blown, rather it was executed no differently than normal, but it appears that have triggered a pre-existing problem, an abscess on Mariko’s brain. Since other wrestlers had faked not being able to get up after the finish (sold the finish) that night, the fans in the arena didn’t immediately realize there was a problem. It seems that this spot may not have been the planned finish of the match. In any case, Plum was knocked out from the Ligerbomb and didn’t kick out. After the match, Ozaki and the other wrestlers saw Plum, who still hadn't budged, snoring, which is a sign that her brain was bleeding.
