Save Squeeze Radio - Sign The Petition

Is Corporate Rap winning???

"Dear Listeners,

As of Oct 7, 2010 I’ve been informed by Columbia University that after 20years, our beloved radio show will come to an end.

In Oct of 1990 two friends Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Garcia started a radio show that revolutionized how we look at hip hop programing. Eight years later, after Stretch left the show, Bobbito continued with Lord Sear what was known then as the CM Famalam Radio Program.
Two years after that, I joined the show until Bobbito and Lord Sear’s retirement in 2003. From that point on the Squeeze Radio Show has remained a pillar in the hip hop community in New York City and has been named the best radio show in NY by Time Out Magazine.

In the past, the program introduced NY and the world to Wu-Tang, Nas, Jay-Z, Big L, Fat Joe and more.

Since 2003, The Squeeze Radio show has introduced NY and many listeners in the world to Kanye West, Consequence, Lupe Fiasco, Blu, Roc Marciano, Torae, Tanya Morgan and more.

I ask for your help. Lets show C.U. that this show is important to not just to us but to the community in general. If you are an artist that’s been in the show, a listener, a Hip Hop fan or just someone that’s tired of how we are being pushed around and shut down let your voice be heard. Sign the petition, write an email to WKCR get your friends to join you and us.

We are running out of time. As of now, we have one show left this Thursday night and I believe and hope that with your help we can make sure that that is not the case.
Peace and Blessings,

Sucio Smash"

Battersea/Vauxhall/PatMore London Hall of Fame R.I.P.

Battersea/Vauxhall/PatMore London Hall of Fame R.I.P.

The Battersea Hall of Fame was a major illegal Graffiti Hall Of Fame in the dark depths of South London from the early 90's to around 2002, not everyone knew about it but many people painted there. It is a series of huge train Track support walls that rose above the junk dealers in Nine Elms, Battersea opposite the Patmore Estate Drury House, on Stewarts Road.

Early 1990's

"I remember Color doing this just after i got done for being Dice, he bombed everywhere Dise is innocent!. He went and racked some homestyles from Texas homecare in Wandsworth, and freestyled this on the wasteground. It was summer '93 i think." - Dice

Juliet by Color 1993 Photo courtesy of Imerse ID
"Juliet" Color's misses. He'd just got together with her, so he was doing a lot of Juliet pieces including a top-to bottom wholecar on a northern line all in buntlacks! lol. Give him retrospective props....He did this one on his jacks, when battersea was hot, all racked paint from Texas homecare in Wandsworth again! He also wrote "New" for a year or two, also did a few New district lines." - Dice

At the end alot of people were getting arrested there. One day as we were climbing through the fence to scope it out, we saw a bunch of writers getting bagged by British Transport Police. That day Neas told us about another Hall Of Fame not far, so he took us to Wandsworth instead, and the rest is history....
It is a gated business now
