Yuzuki Aikawa - Japanese Female Wrestling

In the last entry I mentioned Yuzuki Aikawa as a member of the Stardom roster.
Yuzuki was born on May 16th, 1983 in Niihama, Ehime, Japan.
Before wrestling, she was a popular Japanese Idol and also started a singing group called P-ch!.
And she has eight years training in Taekwondo as well as some training in shoot boxing (which involves kicking, punching, kneeing, throwing, and standing submissions).
She began her wrestling training in May of 2010 and made her debut on October 31st at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring (although she gave a demonstration earlier in October at NOSAWA BOMBAYE 6).
At that event she took on and lost to Nanae Takahashi.
Even though she lost, some observers said that she aquitted herself quite well.
Mainly because she took a serious beating from Nanae and hung in there.

Then on February 6th, 2011 she defeated Yumiko Hotta which didn't hurt her reputation at all.
Her finishing move is the Yuzupon Kick (axe kick).

Ayako Hamada Gone From TNA

On Monday, December 6th, 2010, TNA Wrestling released Ayako Hamada.
Ayako (or Hamada as TNA was billing her) was one half of the current TNA Knockout Tag Team Champions along with Taylor Wilde.
Of course her release is not that much of a surprise.
TNA acted like they really had no idea what to do with Ayako (who has over twelve years experience in the ring).
In January 2010, she teamed with Awesome Kong and defeated Taylor Wilde and Sarita to win the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles.
Then Kong left the company and they were stripped of the belts.
Ayako only showed up now and then until she and Taylor Wilde beat The Beautiful People (Velvet Sky and Lacey Von Erich), winning the Knockout Tag Titles once again.
That match was Ayako's first time on television in four months.

I suppose this is another phenominal misuse of talent that we can lay at the feet of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff.
Way to drive the Knockouts division into the ground guys.

Well Ayako has already worked for SHIMMER Women Athletes and Jersey All Pro Wrestling while she was working for TNA (God knows she had enough time), so we still may see her up here North of the border.
If not, I'm sure Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion (AAA) in Mexico would love to have her back.

When Will Ayako Hamada Show Up In TNA?

Now I am really wondering when Ayako Hamada will show up in TNA.
Her signing with them was reported almost a month ago, and I'm wondering if TNA will pull a Sarah Stock and wait months before we see her in the ring.
(Watch, as soon as I post this she'll show up)
I checked TNA's homepage, and neither Sarah nor Ayako are listed there.
I'm also thinking that Sarah and Ayako would make an awesome tag team.
Lucha Libre and Joshi Puroresu together.
Just be glad the WWE didn't sign them, or they'd both debut as valets.

Hoshi Hamuko is a Japanese female wrestler.
She was born on October 19, 1982 on the island of Hokkaido.
Hoshi is 4'9 and weighs 132 pounds.
She made her pro wrestling debut on May 11, 2008 in Tokyo.
Hoshi wrestles for the Ice Ribbon promotion in Japan.

Pro Wrestling WAVE

Pro Wrestling WAVE is a women's pro wrestling promotion based in Tokyo, Japan, created by GAMI and Yumi Ohka in July of 2007.
The main goal of WAVE was to try to breathe life into the weakening Joshi Puroresu industry.
Their first show was held at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo on August 26, 2007.
On February 13, 2008, WAVE signed a former Ice Ribbon wrestler, Moeka Haruhi.
Since JWP's Commando Bolshoi and GAMI are friends, WAVE as a friendly pact with JWP lending out wrestlers to each others shows.

Japanese female wrestler Makoto was born on September 26, 1989 in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan.
She stands 5'4 and weighs 114 pounds.
Makoto made her pro wrestling debut on July 25th, 2006 at Sakura Hall.

DASH Chisako, Hiren and Ryo Mizunami

DASH Chisako (Chisako Kanari) was born on August 24th, 1988 in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan.
She made her pro wrestling debut against Dynamite Kansai on July 9th, 2006.
DASH wrestles for the SENDAI GIRLS wrestling promotion in Japan.

She made her pro wrestling debut on July 9th, 2006, wrestling Mariko Yoshida.

She made her pro wrestling debut on November 3rd, 2004 against Carlos Amano.
Ryo has wrestled for GAEA and SENDAI GIRLS in Japan.

Kyoko Kimura

The young lady with the 'fro is Japanese female wrestler Kyoko Kimura.
She made her pro wrestling debut on July 20th, 2003.
Kyoko has wrestled for the BJW, JD Star, NEO, BattlARTS and IBUKI promotions in Japan.
She held the NEO Tag Team Wrestling Championships twice. Once with TNA star Awesome Kong and again with Emi Sakura.
Kyoko seems to have a growing fanbase in the US.

Japanese women wrestlers face same results as in Athens

BEIJING, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- At the Beijing Olympics over the weekend,Japanese "Fantastic Four" wrestlers got same result as they did in Athens, with Kaori Icho winning women's freestyle 63kg title and Kyoko Hamaguchi ending with a bronze in the 72kg category on Sunday, and Adding Saori Yoshida's 55kg gold and Chiharu Icho's silver in 48kg on Saturday.
Icho, 24, retained her Olympic title by defeating Alena Kartashova of Russia by winning each of two bouts in overtime. The victory made Icho the second woman to successfully defend the Olympic title after Yoshida won the trophy in 55kg. Both Icho and Yoshida are Athens gold medalists.

Mariko Yoshida - Japanese Women Wrestling

Mariko Yoshida was born on February 15th, 1970 in Onomichi, Hiroshima, Japan.
She is a female professional wrestler best known for her work in the ARSION wrestling promotion, where she also served as the head trainer.

Mariko made her wrestling debut in All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling (AJW / Zenjo) on October 10, 1988 at Tokyo's Korakuen Hall in a match against Keiko Waki.
She was one of the best young stars in AJW, often using Lucha Libre inspired aerial maneuvers to go along with her extremely good mat work skills.

Mariko left AJW in 1997 and joined Aja Kong's ARSION promotion, becoming their head trainer.
In ARSION, she became known as a technical wrestling master, and got a push as a major star.
Mariko was nicknamed "ARSION no Shinjutsu", or "ARSION True Heart".
Giving up the high-flying techniques of her run in Zenjo (because of a neck injury in 1992), her style in ARSION was ground work and submission wrestling moves.

In 2006, Yoshida was presented with the Cauliflower Alley Club's Future Legend Award, becoming only the second female (Cheerleader Melissa was the first), to win this award.

Also Nakagawa is a womens Japanese wrestler.
At one time she wrestled for K-Dojo( a Japanese professional wrestling promotion and training facility owned and promoted by Taka Michinoku.) in the GET divison.
A particular aspect of K-DOJO is that it's one of the few inter-gender wrestling promotions. Women can wrestle in the same ring as men, either during mixed tag matches or even singles matches. Also, they can challenge for championship belts, something that would be unheard of in most wrestling promotions.

Akira Hokuto destroys Madusa

In 1996, the WCW decided to establish a women's championship and struck a deal with the GAEA Japan organization to bring in women wrestlers.

A tournament was held in the fall of 1996.

Madusa defeated Reina Jubuki in the first round, and Zero in the semi-final, but she lost to Akira Hokuto (who lost to Madusa earlier in the tournament as Reina Jubuki) in the finals of the tournament on December 29, 1996 at StarrCade.
Madusa never could win the title.

She claimed to have won it in Japan, but records indicated otherwise.

Mika Akino, better known as AKINO, is a female joshi wrestler .

While still teaching classes at U-FILE, AKINO has scaled her wrestling appearances back dramatically, appearing in an OZ Academy show in January 2007 and in the Jaguar Yokota show on March 11, 2007.

In the mean time, she has taken up golfing and currently travels with a female golfer, Sakura, acting as her caddy while competing in tournaments herself.

One of her most notable students, who was also trained by Yoshida, is Ayumi Kurihara, who has tagged with AKINO several times and also wrestled in M's Style.

Rimi Yokota is a Japanese professional wrestler and later wrestling trainer, who wrestled under the name Jaguar Yokota. She was one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time, and, during her heyday in the early 1980s, was one of the best wrestlers of either sex in the world.

Yokota was born on July 25, 1961 in Tokyo, Japan. She spent the majority of her career as a headliner for the All Japan Women's promotion (AJW). It was highlighted by two title runs as the WWWA Champion.

Having been inspired to join AJW by 1970s stars, the Beauty Pair (Jackie Sato and Maki Ueda),[1] Yokota debuted on June 28, 1977 in Tokyo, against Mayumi Takahashi. She won her first belt on January 4, 1980, when she became the AJW Junior Champion. Later that year, she won the WWWA World Tag Team Championship with Ayumi Hori, on December 17, having also become the first AJW Champion with a victory over Nancy Kumi two days earlier. On February 25, 1981 she achieved her greatest success to that point, defeating her original inspiration, Jackie Sato, for the WWWA World Heavyweight Championship. She was 19 years old.

She lost her first world championship to La Galactica on May 7, 1983 in a hair vs. mask match, then won it back a month later. During her second world title run, she had very notable fueds with Devil Masami and Lioness Asuka (of the Crush Gals), but had to vacate the championship in 1985 due to a shoulder injury.

After her early retirement in 1986 (she was 24), she became a trainer for AJW. Notable students of hers are Manami Toyota, Toshiyo Yamada, and Kyoko Inoue. In 1995 she formed the Jd' promotion, and wrestled as its top star until 1998.

Yokota was married in August, 2004. Currently, she wrestles as Jaguar Y, a member of the Monster faction in HUSTLE.
