Half-centuries from Misbah-ul-Haq, Younus Khan, Kamran Akmal, and Umar Akmal helped Pakistan to Score 317 for seven in their World Cup Group A match against Kenya in Hambantota.Umar Akmal (71 off 52 balls) and Misbah (65 off 69 balls) added 118 in 13.1 overs for the fifth wicket as Pakistan rattled up 70 in the batting powerplay to bring up the imposing total. The cricketing pedigree of the African nation came under question once again as they bowled a world-record 37 wides in addition to six no-balls.Pakistan made a shaky start after opting to bat first, openers Mohammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzad departing within seven overs and with just 12 runs on the board. But Kamran Akmal and Younus got their side back on track by scoring at a brisk pace as Pakistan moved past 100 in the next 16 overs.Kamran Akmal was the first to complete his half-century off 64 balls, but was caught behind for 55 by Maurice Ouma in the next over off Shem Ngoche.
Younus also lost his wicket after reaching his fifty from 66 balls - trapped leg before wicket by Steve Tikolo - but the experienced campaigner had shared a 98-run stand with Akmal and then 45 with Misbah. The Pakistan Test captain and new batsman Umar Akmal then made merry of the lacklustre Kenya bowling as they marched past 200 inside 39 overs.Misbah became the third batsman in a row to reach his fifty and stepped up the scoring during the powerplay overs with a six off his pads heralding a flurry of boundaries.Umar Akmal matched his senior partner's aggression by hitting four boundaries off Elijah Otieno in the 45th over and brought up his fifty off just 40 balls.
